This site has been established to support the efforts of the residents of Kettering and of  Bruny Island who for years have been trying to have improvements made to Ferry Road, Kettering.   The aim of  presenting as much relevant information as  possible on this website is to assist interested readers  to understand the issues and encourage them to lend their support.

The Editor

My name is Graham Bannister and as a concerned resident of Kettering I decided to  establish this site  and act as its editor for  the purpose described above.

I am only new to Kettering.  It appears you have to be here at least 20 years to be considered a local.  But I care about the places I live and seek to contribute positively to the community.  When I introduced myself to the Mayor of Kingborough he quipped “It’s always the newcomers who give us the most trouble”.  “That’s funny” I said “that’s exactly what my last Mayor said!”

Material contained on this site has been gathered from historical and contemporaneous records held by a number of local residents and from anecdotal evidence collected by interviewing individuals who have spent many years campaigning for improvements to Ferry Road. The material gathered has been used in good faith and where necessary for clarification interspersed with commentary by the editor.
